Tested candidate fix that serializes absolute-pointer event submission with libei dispatch and avoids submitting events while the absolute-pointer device is not emulating.
This patch applied cleanly to gnome-remote-desktop 50.0-0ubuntu2. A locally built package containing exactly these source changes stopped the repeatedly reproducible Remote Login libei crash on the reporting system. The patch is provided as a candidate for upstream review. It does not claim that the exact ei_ping/ source_get_fd race has been fully proven. ** Patch added: "2162031-libei-absolute-pointer-serialization.patch" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-remote-desktop/+bug/2162031/+attachment/5987598/+files/2162031-libei-absolute-pointer-serialization.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2162031 Title: gnome-remote-desktop-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in source_get_fd() from ei_send_message() from ei_connection_request_sync() from ei_connection_sync() from ei_ping() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-remote-desktop/+bug/2162031/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
