Public bug reported:

When logged in and screen protect (screen goes black) activates, the
screen goes black and will not come back (neither mouse move nor click
nor keyboard stroke works). To get it back, if I do the ctl-alt-f5 and
ctl-alt-f1, then the login screen shows and I can login again. This
happens when ever screen protect is invoked (including the login
screen). To work around the issue, I have disabled screen protect on my
account and ensure that I login before the login window screen protect
invokes.
