Correction to my previous final update: After further reboot testing, the physical cabling issue is fixed, but one smaller software/profile issue remains on my system.
With correct 5.1 cabling, analog output works. However, after reboot WirePlumber/PipeWire does not always keep the built-in card in the desired Analog Surround 5.1 profile. It can revert to Analog Stereo. I am now using a minimal user systemd workaround that only runs: pactl set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1b.0 output:analog- surround-51+input:analog-stereo This does not force the default sink.
