That last MP (which bumped it to `24.04.99`) has done it :) I built a
GCE image using `livecd-rootfs` from `-proposed` and had it install the
`linux-gcp-edge` (7.0 based) kernel via our build hooks
(`cpc_packaging.extra`). Booted the image up and all looks well:

```
ubuntu@noble-7-0-edge-livecd-rootfs-proposed:~$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:    Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS
Release:        24.04
Codename:       noble
ubuntu@noble-7-0-edge-livecd-rootfs-proposed:~$ uname -r
7.0.0-1006-gcp
ubuntu@noble-7-0-edge-livecd-rootfs-proposed:~$ snap debug seeding
seeded:            true
preseeded:         true
image-preseeding:  8.56s
seed-completion:   5.653s
