Public bug reported: [ Impact ]
* On an NVIDIA DGX station USB Audio device using a Realtek ALC4080 codec (USB ID 0955:cf0a), PipeWire can't identify the availability of the Front Microphone. [ Test Plan ] * Install the updated alsa-ucm-conf * Reboot in the the desktop * Check in the g-c-c sound panel, there is no 'Front Mic' in the input device list * Plug Microphone to the port on the front-panel * The 'Front Mic' can be detected and can be selected * Unplug the Microphone * The 'Front Mic' device should be disappeared from the input device list * Make sure all exported audio port input/output still works successfully [ Where problems could occur ] * The change match the specific USBID (0955:cf0a) only, which won't impact other device. * If the Realtek codec firmware is not up-to-date, the hotplug detection won't be fixed, and it fallback to the original behavior that the front microphone persist in the input device list [ Other Info ] * public issue in pipewire, https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/work_items/5377 * upstream commit, https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf/commit/406fda83a1bdcd67c7b203d7c078880ada6eaba2 ** Affects: oem-priority Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: alsa-ucm-conf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: jira-myd-124 oem-priority ** Summary changed: - Nvidia DGX station ALC4080 front microphone detection + [SRU] Nvidia DGX station ALC4080 front microphone detection ** Description changed: [ Impact ] - * On an NVIDIA DGX station USB Audio device using a Realtek ALC4080 + * On an NVIDIA DGX station USB Audio device using a Realtek ALC4080 codec (USB ID 0955:cf0a), PipeWire can't identify the availability of the Front Microphone. - [ Test Plan ] - * Install the updated alsa-ucm-conf - * Reboot in the the desktop - * Check in the g-c-c sound panel, there is no 'Front Mic' in the input device list - * Plug Microphone to the port on the front-panel - * The 'Front Mic' can be detected and can be selected - * Unplug the Microphone - * The 'Front Mic' device should be disappeared from the input device list - * Make sure all exported audio port input/output still works successfully + * Install the updated alsa-ucm-conf + * Reboot in the the desktop + * Check in the g-c-c sound panel, there is no 'Front Mic' in the input device list + * Plug Microphone to the port on the front-panel + * The 'Front Mic' can be detected and can be selected + * Unplug the Microphone + * The 'Front Mic' device should be disappeared from the input device list + * Make sure all exported audio port input/output still works successfully [ Where problems could occur ] - * The change match the specific USBID (0955:cf0a) only, which won't - impact other device. + * The change match the specific USBID (0955:cf0a) only, which won't impact other device. + * If the Realtek codec firmware is not up-to-date, the hotplug detection won't be fixed, and it fallback to the original behavior that the front microphone persist in the input device list [ Other Info ] - * public issue in pipewire, https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/work_items/5377 - * upstream commit, https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf/commit/406fda83a1bdcd67c7b203d7c078880ada6eaba2 + * public issue in pipewire, https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/work_items/5377 + * upstream commit, https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf/commit/406fda83a1bdcd67c7b203d7c078880ada6eaba2 ** Tags added: jira-myd-124 oem-priority -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2164728 Title: [SRU] Nvidia DGX station ALC4080 front microphone detection To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/2164728/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
