When it comes to kernel builds, ingestion of dkms modules into the main kernel, etc, I'm just a regular user. I know that when you install a dkms module on a security boot system, it will be built, and the user will be asked for a MOK password, and then reboot and type that password in, so that the newly built module can be loaded.
Could you please elaborate what will happen to users who need the 470 driver for their hardware after step (1) as you described is done? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2155202 Title: Severe hardware functionality regressions caused by forced major version updates for NVIDIA drivers (originally: Latest Update Breaks Systems Using Nvidia 470) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-470/+bug/2155202/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
