dkms autoinstall on 7.0.0-30-generic/x86_64 failed for broadcom-sta(10)

The broadcom driver prevents the 7.0 kernel from installing correctly (
bug 2161038 ).
There is a patched version available that has not reached the standard
repos yet. You can install that, and make sure your system completes a
routine update without error. Then, you should be able to boot in to 7.0
kernel.
cd ~/ #or wherever you want to store the downloaded .deb
wget
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/broadcom-sta/6.30.223.271-23ubuntu1.3/+build/33528524/+files/broadcom-sta-dkms_6.30.223.271-23ubuntu1.3_all.deb
sudo dpkg -i broadcom-sta-dkms_6.30.223.271-23ubuntu1.3_all.deb
sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade
