Upgrading only linux-firmware from .27 to .29 reproducibly triggers an AMDGPU failure on my RX 6900 XT, while .27 works. The failed boot's kernel log shows DMUB auto-load failure followed by SMU timeouts, SDMA ring timeout, failed GPU reset, and GPU recovery failure.
