apport information

** Description changed:

  == Environment ==

  Ubuntu version:   26.04 LTS
  Kernel:           7.0.0-10110oem
  Machine: Lenovo Yoga Pro 9 16IPH11 (BIOS product name: 83SF)
  CPU: Intel Panther Lake (Core Ultra Series 3)
  GPU:              NVIDIA GB206 (discrete)
  Audio hardware: Intel Panther Lake Smart Sound Technology (00:1f.3)
                    + NVIDIA GB206 HDA (02:00.1)

  == Problem ==

  Internal speakers and microphone are not detected. Only HDMI audio
  outputs (from the NVIDIA card and SOF HDMI passthrough) are available.
  The sound settings dropdown shows only "Dummy Output" / "Dummy
  Microphone" for internal audio.

  == Root cause (from kernel log) ==

  The SOF driver (sof-audio-pci-intel-ptl) loads and detects SoundWire
  devices on links 0 and 3, but reports:

    "No SoundWire machine driver found for the ACPI-reported configuration"
    "part id 0x105 is not supported"

  It then falls back to the generic HDA machine driver
  (skl_hda_dsp_generic) with topology sof-hda-generic-idisp-4ch.tplg,
  which only exposes HDMI outputs — not the internal codec.

  The SoundWire devices detected are:
    link 0: mfg_id 0x01fa  part_id 0x3556  version 0x3  (×4 entries)
    link 0: mfg_id 0xd010  part_id 0x0105  version 0x0  (unsupported)
    link 3: mfg_id 0x01fa  part_id 0x4243  version 0x3
    link 3: mfg_id 0x025d  part_id 0x0722  version 0x3

  This machine's SoundWire codec combination is not present in the
  sof_sdw machine driver's quirk/match table.

  Additionally, intel_quicki2c (00:10.0) produces continuous
  "unexpected DIR happen" errors during operation, and reports
  "Can't find wake GPIO resource" at boot — this appears to be a
  separate driver issue with the touchscreen I2C controller on this
  platform, but is noted here as it may be related to Panther Lake
  enablement status.

  == aplay -l output ==

  Only HDMI devices are listed (NVidia card 0, SOF HDMI passthrough
  card 1 devices 3/4/5). No Speaker or Headphones device appears on
  card 1 as would be expected if the SoundWire codec were initialised.

  == Steps to reproduce ==

  1. Boot Ubuntu 26.04 with kernel 7.0.0-10110oem on a Lenovo Yoga
     Pro 9 16IPH11 (model 83SF).
  2. Open Settings → Sound.
  3. Observe that no internal output or input device is available.

  == Expected result ==

  Internal speakers and microphone are detected and functional.

  == Actual result ==

  Only HDMI audio outputs available. Internal audio completely absent.

  == Workaround ==

  None known. Bluetooth audio works.

  == Request ==

  A DMI/SoundWire quirk entry needs to be added to the sof_sdw machine
  driver (sound/soc/intel/boards/sof_sdw.c or equivalent) for this
  machine and codec combination, matching on:
    System product: 83SF (or "Yoga Pro 9 16IPH11")
    SoundWire IDs as listed above

  Similar prior art: commit 85743a847cae (ALC287_FIXUP_YOGA7_14ITL_SPEAKERS)
  and the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Ultra 14IPH11 SoundWire quirks.
