I ran the tests. * Installed krdp 6.6.4-0ubuntu1. * In a separate Kubuntu 26.04 LTS system, installed krdc 4:25.12.3-0ubuntu1 * Attempted to access the krdp system from the krdc system using GUI.
The client refuses to connect but it does not report a protocol issue; instead it shows ERRINFO_LOGOFF_BY_USER in syslog. On the server, "Client does not support H.264 in YUV420 mode!" is shown in syslog. The problem remained when using Remina 1.4.43 client from the debian repository. However, using the Remmina Snap (same version, 1.4.43) WORKS. The H.264 library probably provides a performance increase, but I did not have time to test. In summary, this addition should only help, but it is not the full solution to the problem. I've attached my logs and analysis in the hopes that someone will find them useful. ** Attachment added: "2026-08-24_krdp-debug.tgz" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/krdp/+bug/2163061/+attachment/5995045/+files/2026-08-24_krdp-debug.tgz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2163061 Title: [SRU] Fix krdp on wayland - requires libh264 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/krdp/+bug/2163061/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
