I could not update to kernel version 7.0.0-31-generic, nor any other
kernel, due to errors, but adding the boot parameter
i915.enable_dpcd_backlight=0 did help without having to change the
kernel. I can confirm this helped resolve the issue of my laptop's
brightness not working and being dark after waking up from suspend.
