Hello, Adding another affected machine: HP EliteBook 8 G1i 16" Next Gen AI PC, Ubuntu 24.04 with HWE kernel 7.0.0-30-generic, BIOS X91 Ver. 01.05.02.
The codec subsystem ID here is 103c:8e2c (Realtek ALC245), which is a different SSID from the 103c:8d8f already reported in this bug — same failure mode: pxa2xx-spi pxa2xx-spi.3: cs1 >= max 1 spi_master spi0: error -EINVAL: failed to add SPI device CSC3556:00 from ACPI Serial bus multi instantiate pseudo device driver CSC3556:00: probe failed with error -22 snd_hda_codec_alc269 ehdaudio0D0: Found 2 CSC3556 on spi Two details that may be useful: - snd_hda_scodec_cs35l56_spi is loaded but sits at 0 users, confirming the SPI devices are never created and the amps are never bound. - The codec log line reads "ALC245: picked fixup for codec SSID 103c:8e2c" with an empty fixup name, so this SSID has no quirk entry at all. Internal speakers are silent; USB and 3.5mm headsets work fine. Still reproducible on 7.0.0-30, so Khalil's v2 series (April 2026, linux-spi / platform-driver-x86) has not landed in the Ubuntu kernel yet. Full log attached.
