This appears to be a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-7.0/+bug/2161222

Both reports show the exact same failure signature:

- kernel BUG at fs/iomap/buffered-io.c:1061
- iomap_write_end+0x1ea/0x1f0
- write path through ntfs_file_write_iter [ntfs3]
- subsequent operations stuck permanently in D-state at vfs_unlink

This report also confirms that the problem remains present in Ubuntu
7.0.0-30-generic.

The likely upstream fix is commit 70d3855594cf6e8791970714b65cac3202d6160e:
ntfs3: Allocate iomap inline_data using alloc_page

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=70d3855594cf6e8791970714b65cac3202d6160e

Could an Ubuntu kernel maintainer please confirm and mark this as a
duplicate of LP: #2161222?
