This will require a new version and, accordingly, a feature freeze exception. I explored backporting the isolated changes as patches, but they are quite extensive.
Ultimately, this is preemptively fixing an issue that will arise when we move the LLVM default version to 22, which is also pending an FFE: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/llvm-defaults/+bug/2163854 The alternative would be changing ispc to explicitly depend on an older version of LLVM, but keeping things up-to-date and moving forward makes more sense.
