I activated the "normal" visual effects and noticed that compiz then uses the ctrl-alt-pgup/pgdn combination to change workspaces lower or higher by numbering the workspaces in following fashion :
123 456 789 The ctrl-alt-pgup/pgdn combination is then not available anymore for gedit which coudl use it without visual effects so, I'll mark the bug as confirmed on uname -a : Linux koen-desktop 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Dec 18 05:28:27 UTC 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -l | grep gedit ii gedit 2.20.3-0ubuntu1 official text editor of the GNOME desktop en ii gedit-common 2.20.3-0ubuntu1 official text editor of the GNOME desktop en [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -l | grep compiz ii compiz 1:0.6.2+git20071119-0ubuntu1~gutsy1 OpenGL window and compositing manager ii compiz-core 1:0.6.2+git20071119-0ubuntu1~gutsy1 OpenGL window and compositing manager ii compiz-fusion-plugins-extra 0.6.0+git20071121-0ubuntu1~gutsy1 Collection of extra plugins from OpenComposi ii compiz-fusion-plugins-main 0.5.2+git20070928-0ubuntu2 Collection of plugins from OpenCompositing f ii compiz-gnome 1:0.6.2+git20071119-0ubuntu1~gutsy1 OpenGL window and compositing manager - GNOM ii compiz-plugins 1:0.6.2+git20071119-0ubuntu1~gutsy1 OpenGL window and compositing manager - plug ii libcompizconfig-backend-gconf 0.5.2+git20071010-0ubuntu1 Settings library for plugins - OpenCompositi ii libcompizconfig0 0.5.2+git20070919-0ubuntu3 Settings library for plugins - OpenCompositi I'm assigning it also to the compiz package ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None => compiz Status: New => Confirmed -- keyboard shortcut conflict: gedit and desktop workspaces https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185032 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
