Thanks, that makes sense, there is a version which fails to build in
stonking-proposed so removing is basically a demotion to proposed and
the build failure a reminder that there is an issue that should be fixed
for the package to be restored
$ ./remove-package -s stonking -m "Demoting to proposed to unblock transitions
