Public bug reported:

Not sure, but could not find any details (I find the search not so user
friendly).

After upgrading to the 26 LTS version the landscape-sysinfo is broken.
Recently I got the Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS update and had hoped it's solved.

This is what I get when running the command:

landscape-sysinfo
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/landscape-sysinfo", line 26, in <module>
    run(sys.argv[1:], reactor)
    ~~~^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/landscape/sysinfo/deployment.py", line
    for plugin in config.get_plugins():
                  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^^
  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/landscape/sysinfo/deployment.py", line

    if self.exclude_sysinfo_plugins is None:
       ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/landscape/lib/config.py", line 113, in

    return option.type(value)

  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/landscape/sysinfo/deployment.py", line
42, in plugin_list
    raise ArgumentTypeError(invalid_plugins)
argparse.ArgumentTypeError: ['LandscapeLink']

There is no difference in running the command as user or root.

For Python: python -V
Python 3.14.4

And the /var/log/landscape/sysinfo.log is empty (as it should be).

Of course on the previous Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS it's running fine.

Please advise. Is this a know issue and where is it documented?

Kind regards,
Matthijs
