Public bug reported:
QCA6174/ath10k WiFi has severe periodic latency spikes to the local
router.
With:
ping -i 0.2 192.168.1.1
normal latency is approximately 1–4 ms, but periodically (every few seconds)
increases to 100–400+ ms for several packets. There is no packet loss.
The problem is machine-specific: another laptop connected to the same
WiFi does not exhibit the problem, and wired Ethernet on this laptop has
normal latency.
The problem occurs on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, despite a strong WiFi
signal.
WiFi power saving is explicitly disabled. The problem is unchanged with
power saving OFF.
Bluetooth is also disabled, with no change.
NetworkManager WiFi scanning was disabled:

wifi.scan-rand-mac-address=no
This also made no difference.
ath10k station statistics show:
tx retries: 0
tx failed: 0
The problem is new. The laptop previously worked normally enough for online
gaming, and the latency problem appeared only within the last few weeks.
The problem occurs with both:
6.14.0-37-generic
7.0.0-30-generic
The wireless adapter is:

There is also evidence of ath10k firmware problems in dmesg. In particular:
ath10k_pci 0000:01:00.0: firmware crashed!
followed by repeated:
ath10k_pci 0000:01:00.0: wmi command ... timeout, restarting hardware
and other WMI failures.
I have not yet established whether the firmware crashes directly
correlate with the ping latency spikes, but the firmware failures seem
potentially relevant.
The main symptom is periodic latency/buffered delay over WiFi to the
local router, despite strong signal, no power saving, no Bluetooth
coexistence, no background WiFi scanning, zero TX retries/failures, and
normal wired Ethernet.
