Hi Viktor, Yes, of course the bug I linked has nothing to do with the issue here (you're not even running 0.107, which was what introduced that other problem). Major brain fart, my bad.
This does sound reasonable, and it seems that (at least reading the source code) this is still an issue in 1.2.2 (but I'm not too familiar with netplan internals, so take this with a grain of salt).
