** Summary changed:

+ Removal Request: netplug [was "netplug: System V script needs to be migrated
to systemd service"]

** Description changed:

+ [Removal Request]

- This package ships at least one init script in /etc/init.d that needs to be
migrated to a systemd service.
+ In Stonking please remove src:netplug and all of its binaries. This
+ package has been dropped from Debian testing as of 2025-11-03:
+
+ A new upstream version of netplug has not been accepted into Debian since
2011.
+ This package is effectively abandoned, and because of this, removing netplug
from Ubuntu will be good for archive health, as it will be one less package
that
+ must be maintained.
+
+ netplug has no reverse-dependencies:
+
+ ~$ reverse-depends src:netplug
+ No reverse dependencies found
+
+ ~$ reverse-depends -b src:netplug
+ No reverse dependencies found
+
+ This request is not limited to a specific architecture.

+ [Original Description]
+
+ This package ships at least one init script in /etc/init.d that needs to
+ be migrated to a systemd service.

Up to and including Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, the systemd package shipped
systemd-sysv-generator which generated
basic systemd services from System V scripts on the fly. This generator was
removed from upstream systemd
in version v260, and will not be shipped in Ubuntu 26.10.
