Public bug reported:

In the German translation of gnome-shell, the message %H∶%M (marked
"Translators: Time in 24h format") is translated as 1.

As a result, every 24-hour time label in the calendar popup renders as
"1" instead of an actual time. This affects the World Clocks section and
the hourly forecast in the Weather section. The clock in the top bar is
not affected, as it uses a different string.

With the session language set to English, all times display correctly,
which confirms the translation as the cause.

A correct suggestion of %H∶%M has been pending in Launchpad since
2026-06-19 but has not been accepted; the current translation, dated
2026-03-19, is still 1.

The language pack currently installed (1:26.04+20260818) was built two
months after the suggestion was made, so the correction has still not
been imported. As 26.04 is an LTS release, this affects all German-
language installations for the lifetime of the release.

Workaround: correcting the msgstr in /usr/share/locale-
langpack/de/LC_MESSAGES/gnome-shell.mo and recompiling it fixes the
display.
