** Description changed: + [ Impact ] + + Users are not taken directly to the release notes, but to another page + they need to click through. + + [ Test plan ] + + * Run do-release-upgrade + * Note URL is https://discourse/... + * Run do-release-upgrade --proposed + * Note URL is https://documentation.ubuntu.com/... + * Click URL and ensure that the release notes are display + + [ Where things could go wrong ] + + Given these are just labels, there's not a great deal that's likely to + go wrong. The pre-build script does need updating to count the correct + number of instances of the release name, so the only major potential + issue is if we get the URL wrong, but the test plan covers this case. + + [ Original description ] + The Release notes page on the do-release-upgrade -d says to go to https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/resolute-raccoon-release-notes, but you will notice this link says that the patch notes have moved to documentation.ubuntu.com/release-notes/. Wouldn't it be better to just send you directly to the documentation instead of going through an intermediary page that doesn't tell the end user anything? 1) Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS 2) ubuntu-release-upgrader-core:1.24.04.28 3) I expected the link to the release notes to send me to the new release notes page 4) I clicked the link, and it send me to a secondary referral link I don't think this is a blocker or anything, but perhaps it can be fixed before official migration opens up? Should just be a single line change, I think.
