My issue is mostly the EfNet servers, it can be fine for a few months, then for a week or two, it is constantly 100% cpu usage, ui issues, then it goes back to normall. After I applied my patch, the issue instantly went away. strace found epoll was constantly polling the tls socket and getting an error and hexchat was not clearing the error, closing the socket, it just kept attempting to read data from a broken tls socket that was not actually open/readable.
