Display cable issues often cause subtle detection problems which can
come and go. You might have full resolution available at boot, and then
start to have problems when the monitor tries to wake from sleep.

The literal meaning of "[drm] Cannot find any crtc or sizes" is that it
can't find the display hardware or any display modes. So this is a
poorly worded error message. More likely and more simply it means it
can't detect any monitor.
