Public bug reported:

The autopkgtest of rust-service-binding 3.0.0-2 fails on stonking/amd64
because one test, service::tests::parse_tcp_localhost, assumes that
"localhost" resolves to both 127.0.0.1 and ::1.

On the autopkgtest infrastructure (LXD containers), localhost only
resolves to 127.0.0.1:

  ---- service::tests::parse_tcp_localhost stdout ----
  thread 'service::tests::parse_tcp_localhost' panicked at src/service.rs:475:9:
  assertion `left == right` failed
    left: [127.0.0.1:8081]
   right: [127.0.0.1:8081, [::1]:8081]
  test result: FAILED. 20 passed; 1 failed; 0 ignored; 0 measured; 0 filtered
out

The other 20 tests pass. Every 3.0.0-2 run since July 2026 fails on this same
test (checked runs from 2026-07-24, 2026-08-29, 2026-09-18 and 2026-10-01), for
example:
https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/results/autopkgtest-stonking/stonking/amd64/r/rust-service-binding/20261001_083553_9bf63@/artifacts.tar.gz

Note: the web log (log.gz) is cut off mid-compile at about 450 KB, which
makes this look like a timeout or OOM. It isn't, so adding the package
to the big_packages list did not help. The real failure is in rust-
service-binding:@-stdout in the artifacts.

This is not a regression in -2:
- The test code is identical in 3.0.0-1 and 3.0.0-2 (same upstream 3.0.0).
- 3.0.0-1 never ran its tests on stonking: its migration-reference runs end
with "SKIP installation fails" because its test dependencies are not
installable. 3.0.0-2 fixed that ("Allow serial-test >= 2, < 4 in autopkgtest"),
so the tests now run for the first time.

The test passes when run locally with the qemu backend, where /etc/hosts maps
::1 to localhost:
  autopkgtest -U --apt-pocket=proposed=src:rust-service-binding
rust-service-binding -- qemu autopkgtest-stonking-amd64.img
It should reproduce with the lxd backend used by the infrastructure.

Suggested fix: patch the test so it doesn't depend on the host's IPv6
localhost setup. For example, only require that 127.0.0.1:8081 is in the
result, or build the expected list from
"localhost:8081".to_socket_addrs(). This is worth forwarding to Debian
and upstream too, since any IPv4-only test environment will hit it.
