@jchittum: ethtool has no autopkgtests of its own, and [1] highlights
that such cases should be justified.

Now, that pull request hasn't been merged yet, so it's not a rule at the
moment, but it raises a point that is valid for this case: how can we
avoid regressions with such a major version update? And even more so
when compared to what noble as currently? (Also note that noble has GA
and HWE kernels, so the new ethtool should be tested with both at
least).

Julian also asked for regression testing in comment #14.

And the test plan doesn't mention noble, even though this was uploaded
to noble too. Can it please be updated to repeat whatever testing is
decided so that it also includes noble?
