I am affected by this bug as well. After upgrading to Ubuntu 26.04, Firefox Snap cannot open .eml files with Thunderbird (installed as a .deb package in /opt/thunderbird/). The "Open with..." dialog appears every time, and the choice is not remembered.
I have verified that: - `xdg-mime query default message/rfc822` returns `thunderbird.desktop` - `~/.local/share/applications/thunderbird.desktop` points to `/opt/thunderbird/thunderbird` - Firefox's `handlers.json` has `message/rfc822` with `action: 4` and `ask: false` - A custom script to launch Thunderbird fails with EPERM on unshare(CLONE_NEWPID) The workaround `systemctl --user restart xdg-desktop-portal-gnome` temporarily fixes the issue, but it reappears after every reboot.
