Public bug reported: This package (firmware-qcom-dsp) conflicts with linux-firmware-qualcom- misc, as, compared to Debian, we still have DSP firmwares in linux- firmware* packages.
The reason it is hexagon-dsp-binaries that brings the DSP firmwares is that there is a one-one link between version of DSP firmware and binaries, so those need to stay in sync. That's why Debian let this package provides the DSP firmware, so it's sure to be aligned with the DSP binaries (also provided by this package). One solution could be to bring this package to universe (MIR) so linux- firmware-qualcomm-misc could depend on firmware-qcom-dsp (instead of bringing the DPS firmwares itself), i.e. copying Debian behaviour. Otherwise, maybe we could divert all those files in common? Note: I've already open a ticket in linux-firmware about that (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware-qualcomm- misc/+bug/2148674) ** Affects: hexagon-dsp-binaries (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2169858 Title: Conflict with linux-firmware (linux-firmware-qualcomm-misc) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hexagon-dsp-binaries/+bug/2169858/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
