Public bug reported: fdb 5.23.0-1 has been in stonking-proposed for 49 days and can't migrate: it fails to build on every architecture that matters.
Migration status for fdb (5.15.12-1 to 5.23.0-1): BLOCKED missing build on amd64, amd64v3, arm64 Build failures (5.23.0-1) ------------------------- amd64/amd64v3: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fdb/5.23.0-1/+build/33518266 src/fdb5/tools/fdb-patch.cc:26:10: fatal error: metkit/codes/CodesDataContent.h: No such file or directory ld: undefined reference to symbol 'codes_get_long' (fdb-hammer) fdb 5.23 needs metkit >= 1.21, which ships the metkit/codes/ API (CodesDataContent.h, codes/api/CodesAPI.h). stonking has metkit 1.19.2-1, which doesn't. fdb's debian/control only says libmetkit-dev (>= 1.18.0-1~), so the dependency is satisfied but the build breaks. arm64 failed at dependency installation on the buildd and would hit the same error. riscv64 was a transient ftpmaster fetch failure. armhf is a permanent dependency wait (architecture-is-64-bit), which is expected. Fixing it would mean syncing metkit 1.21.0-2 from Debian: a new upstream version with a new binary (python3-metkit) during the Pre-release Freeze. That isn't worth it for 26.10. Reverse dependencies (stonking) ------------------------------- $ reverse-depends -r stonking src:fdb No reverse dependencies found $ reverse-depends -r stonking -b src:fdb No reverse dependencies found Request ------- Please remove fdb 5.23.0-1 from stonking-proposed. stonking keeps fdb 5.15.12-1. fdb 5.23.x and metkit 1.21 can be synced together next cycle. A Debian bug for fdb's libmetkit-dev version constraint will follow. ** Affects: fdb (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Released ** Tags: update-excuse ** Tags added: update-excuse ** Changed in: fdb (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2170255 Title: Please remove fdb 5.23.0-1 from stonking-proposed (FTBFS, needs metkit >= 1.21) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fdb/+bug/2170255/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
