Still reproduces on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (grub2 [version], util-linux
[version], kernel 7.0.0-15). After editing /etc/fstab, update-grub
emitted the same find error and produced a grub.cfg with zero Linux menu
entries (only memtest and UEFI Firmware Settings). Rebooting would have
left the system unbootable without manual GRUB intervention. Running
systemctl daemon-reload and rerunning update-grub restored the entries.
Since kernel package upgrades invoke update-grub automatically, any
fstab edit followed by an unattended kernel upgrade can silently break
boot. Suggest raising importance.
