Public bug reported:
The Azure cloud Linux system that gets prepared (rootfs encrypted, vTPM
initialized, OVMF code and vars collected...) by the ubuntu-boot-test
script leads to a non-bootable OS.
This bug happens on Ubuntu 26.04 (resolute) hosts, and not on Ubuntu
24.04 (noble).
The expected behaviour is:
- snap-bootstrap succeeds in unlocking the LUKS2 partition of rootfs
- switch root into the unlocked rootfs
- the systems goes on booting normally
The observed behaviour is:
- snap-bootstrap prints this error
[ 1.511593] snap-bootstrap[159]: Error with keyslot
"external:legacy": cannot recover keys from keyslot: incompatible key
data role params: invalid PCR policy data: cannot complete authorization
policy assertions: cannot execute PCR assertions: cannot execute
PolicyOR assertions: current session digest not found in policy data
- rootfs is not unlocked and switch root does not happen
- the system reboots
