Upstream already fixed this in 7.0.9: https://github.com/epics- base/epics-base/commit/3d70e70640 ("Add dbPvt2Rec() cast ... pacify -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=3 and __builtin_object_size()"). The _FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 Ubuntu delta can be dropped once Debian packages 7.0.9 or later (upstream is at R7.0.10); alternatively the commit could be cherry- picked instead of lowering the fortify level.
