Public bug reported:
I updated to 7.0.0.38 from 7.0.0.34 and the bootup failed. First message
was out of memory. Somehow I got by that and a purple screen came up
"KERNEL PANIC! Please reboot your computer, VFSS: Unable to mount root
fs on unknown-block(0,0) Then a screen came up with selections on which
kernel I wanted to use and two choices with just the kernel generic or
(recovery mode). I chose just generic and it went to my Mint desktop.
Everything appears to be normal except all the rollbacks in TimsShift
were gone.
During one reboot I had a screen full of different colored pixels but
that only happened once. I have probably rebooted 4 or 5 times and it
seems repeatable. I choose the 7.0.0.34 kernel generic and I get my
desktop.
I tried the following in Termminal:
ken@KensPC:~$ sudo apt install apport upuntu-bug linux
[sudo] password for ken:
