I reproduced this on Ubuntu Noble with ubuntu-release-upgrader 1:24.04.29 and update-manager 1:24.04.12. Clicking Upgrade appeared to do nothing because do-release-upgrade exited with “Please install all available updates for your release before upgrading,” without showing the prerequisite failure in the GTK interface. The blocker was OBS Studio 30.2.3-0obsproject1~jammy, with candidate 30.2.3+dfsg-3~bpo24.04.1 from noble-backports. Installing the candidate and its dependencies cleared the blocker, and the Upgrade button then worked. The attached patch makes the GTK prerequisite failure visible and names the blocking packages, while preserving the upgrade guard, command-line behavior, and phased-update exemptions. Twelve mocked tests pass against the affected Noble source and the inspected upstream launcher; four GTK regression tests fail without the patch. Syntax and patch-applicability checks pass. Actual GTK rendering and the full integration suite have not been tested.
