Okay, that sounds promising. Any chance you can test the version in the PPA, ppa:waveform/kodi [1]? If the PPA version fixes things that's by far the easiest for me to sponsor. If that *doesn't* we'll have to see how your custom build differs and whether I can sponsor those changes instead.
