Follow-up: the board is now running headless, with gdm.service masked
and multi-user.target as the default boot target. GDM was stopped at
2026-10-30 05:12 UTC.

At the follow-up check on 2026-10-31 at 03:20 UTC, uptime was 22 hours
16 minutes. Available RAM was about 13.5 GiB, and the sysstat samples
showed no continuing downward trend. The readings were:

MemAvailable: 14183448 KiB
Shmem: 28172 KiB
Unevictable: 51472 KiB
msm DRM GEM: 10 objects, 25169920 bytes (24 MiB)

The roughly 11 GiB shown as buff/cache was reclaimable filesystem cache.
Shared and pinned memory stayed low, and the GPU buffer count was back
at its small baseline. There were no GNOME Shell Mesa submission errors
recorded in this boot.

This longer stable run is with GDM disabled. It supports avoiding the
leak by running headless. It does not establish that disabling login-
screen animations alone fixes the problem during extended graphical use.
The animation setting remains in place, but that test is still limited
to the short controlled run in the original report.

The bug remains unresolved for graphical operation.
