Public bug reported:
Steps to Reproduce:
Open a fresh terminal or session.
Run gio launch -- /usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Nautilus.desktop.
Observe that the application fails to open.
Run the exact same command a second time; observe that it opens
successfully. If not, retry one or two times and then it works.
Expected Result: The application should activate flawlessly on the first
invocation.
Actual Result: The command exits silently or drops the invocation,
requiring a secondary invocation to reliably launch. There is no error
in journalctl -xb.
Note that setting DBusActivatable=false in the desktop file make the
command work.
Observed in a fresh Ubuntu 26.04.1 install. Same problem with any
desktop file that has DBusActivatable=true.
** Affects: glib2.0 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
