Public bug reported:
On the ASUS Vivobook 18 M1807GA, the internal speakers, headphone jack
and microphones don't work on Ubuntu 26.04 (kernels 7.0.0-42-generic and
7.0.0-1017-oem). Only the HDMI outputs show up, and PipeWire shows
"Dummy Output".
The SoundWire codec is detected and its driver binds. However,
snd_pci_ps never creates the amd_sdw machine device, because no entry in
snd_soc_acpi_amd_acp70_sdw_machines matches this codec layout.
The only RT721 entry in amd-acp70-acpi-match.c is
acp70_rt721_l1u0_tas2783x2_l1u8b. It also requires two TAS2783
amplifiers on link 1, and this machine has none. So the table lookup
fails, no machine driver probes, and no sound card is created. The
machine driver, the sdw-utils codec info (rt721 SPK / HP / MIC2) and the
UCM profile (amd-soundwire, sof-soundwire/rt721.conf) all already
support this configuration.
Fix:
Add an RT721-only entry for link 1. It reuses the existing
jack_amp_g1_dmic_endpoints and is placed after the RT721 + TAS2783 entry, so
machines that have those amps still match their own entry first. See
rt721-l1u0-only.patch (against v7.0.14
sound/soc/amd/acp/amd-acp70-acpi-match.c).
