Public bug reported: [ Impact ]
ukui-screensaver in resolute uses obsolete background paths, including /usr/share/backgrounds/1-openkylin.jpg and /usr/share/backgrounds/1-warty-final-ubuntukylin.jpg. A missing selected image or the old default can leave the lock screen, greeter or screensaver without a valid background. The fix uses available desktop/distribution images and the session-manager fallback. It also resolves symlinks for control-center selection and applies the fallback when restoring defaults. [ Test Plan ] Use a resolute desktop and a test account. Record package versions and paths: ```sh dpkg-query -W ukui-screensaver ubuntukylin-wallpapers ukui-session-manager gsettings get org.ukui.screensaver background readlink -f /usr/share/backgrounds/ubuntukylin-default-settings.jpg test -r /usr/share/ukui/ukui-session-manager/images/background-ukui.png ``` 1. With the original package, select a valid test image and check the lock screen and screensaver. Save the setting with `saved_bg=$(gsettings get org.ukui.screensaver background)`. 2. Ensure the following path is absent, then run `gsettings set org.ukui.screensaver background '/tmp/ukui-sru-missing-background.jpg'`. Check the control-center background page, lock screen and screensaver. Record the failure and check restoring the default. 3. Install the updated package from resolute-proposed, record its version and apt policy, and reboot. Repeat step 2. Each component should display an available fallback. The control-center getter prefers the desktop wallpaper; other consumers can use a distribution or session-manager image. 4. Restore the default and check that it exists and can be selected in the wallpaper list. Check valid custom images and valid/broken symlinks. Where supported, enable the image for login and check greeter backgrounds for different test users. 5. In a disposable environment, make distribution images and the wallpaper D-Bus service unavailable. Verify the session-manager fallback, including the displayed background. Restore the environment afterwards. 6. Restore with `gsettings set org.ukui.screensaver background "$saved_bg"` and restore any test-account options. Check login, lock/unlock and normal screensaver operation. [ Where problems could occur ] The patch changes defaults, fallback order and control-center reset behavior. It could override a valid custom image, return an unreadable greeter image, delay on an unavailable D-Bus service, or select the wrong wallpaper after resolving a symlink. Check these paths and systems without Ubuntu Kylin wallpaper images. [ Other Info ] The fix is already included in stonking 4.20.0.5-0ubuntu1 and tenacious 4.20.0.5-1.
