Hi Ross,

A new data point: the loop is still present on kernel 7.0.0-43-generic
(installed 2026-11-06 via normal updates), tested WITHOUT
acpi_mask_gpe=0x6D (confirmed in /proc/cmdline). Since my last test,
systemd and udev were also updated (259.5-0ubuntu3.4 -> 259.9-0ubuntu0.1,
2026-10-26).

Three lid closes on battery, same boot:
1) closed 07:43:45, one suspend entry, opened 07:50:27 (clean)
2) closed 07:51:59, one suspend entry, opened 07:59:16 (clean)
3) closed 08:09:38:
   08:09:40 suspend entry (s2idle)
   08:09:41 suspend exit (woke after ~1 s)
   08:10:11 suspend entry
08:10:12 suspend exit (~30 s later, same pattern)
08:10:41 suspend entry -> then it slept normally until I opened the lid
at 09:19:50

So this is the same signature as before (immediate wake-up, retry after ~30
s), but this time it stopped by itself after two cycles. The bug is
intermittent, which is why the first two clean tests do not prove anything.
Earlier tests: on 7.0.0-31 (26.04 build) it looped for the whole 4 minutes
(10 cycles) without the mask.

I'm keeping the mask as a workaround. Happy to run any further test you
suggest.
