Hi, I tested sssd version 2.9.4-1.1ubuntu6.9 from noble-proposed in an Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (Noble) container, amd64. I followed the test plan in the bug, adapting the commands to run KCM as root on Noble, with tgt_renewal = true and krb5_renew_interval = 1200s. Before upgrading, version 2.9.4-1.1ubuntu6.8 reproduced the use-after-free under Valgrind, reporting invalid reads in krb5_string_to_deltat and 24 errors from 9 contexts. After upgrading, I repeated the same 15-second Valgrind test. KCM initialized successfully, read the renewal configuration, and shut down cleanly when the timeout expired. Valgrind reported 0 errors.
