I could be completely deranged! Since I can no longer recreate the problem, it is possible I could have been trying "Open folder". I'm sure I would have used the button on the toolbar, which is "Open folder". But I'm equally sure I would have used "Open" from the file menu. Ristretto is working just fine for me too - it's a great utility. I'll try to recreate the circumstances I observed the 'bug' in, if I can't do it, and nobody else can, then it must be my mistake.
