Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

My computer have an onboard nvidia soundstorm sound card, and to be able to use
the hardware mixing and real time dolby digital encoding, I need to run nvidias
old nvsound driver, which is OSS only (i.e does not work with alsa).
To get pulseaudio working on gutsy, I needed to uncomment this line in
/etc/pulse/default.pa (automatic detection does not work):
load-module module-oss device="/dev/dsp" sink_name=output
source_name=input
This worked really well in gutsy, but when I do the same in hardy, the computer
completely freezes (Not even Alt+SysRq+R,E,I,S,U,B helps).

Relevant information:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-7NNXP (nforce 2, with soundstorm integrated in the
mcp-t southbridge).
Sound driver: nvidia nvsound, installed according to my howto at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=253725.
OS: Hardy Heron (installed from alpha 3 cd, but up to date with daily updates)
Installed pulseaudio package: 0.9.9-1ubuntu1

I'm not the only one with this problem:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=4195416&postcount=179
(But this problem may be hardware/driver specific)

** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
