hey, Just for the record, i'm facing this problem on my laptop, thinkpad z60m with x300 ati, compiz enabled with the default effects, i'm not however facing it on my desktop with ati x300se, actually i sometimes keep the desktop running for weeks with no slowdowns.. on another note, i previously had faced some lockups on my laptop while playing warcraft, and once with worms 3d, so it might after all be a driver issue not a compiz one no?
