Since there are already bug reports for the other issues let's focus
this one specifically on why the projector/laptop video modes are not
getting detected automatically when running xrandr --auto. Regarding
the wish for a GUI xrandr interface, I'm already focusing on working on
that.

cay, can you please attach the output of lspci -vvnn, and then run the
following tests:

1. Boot laptop by itself, no projector or monitor connected. Capture
and upload /var/log/Xorg.0.log and the output of `xrandr`

2. With laptop booted, now plug in the projector. Capture and upload
/var/log/Xorg.0.log and the output of `xrandr`

3. Run `xrandr --auto`. Capture and upload the output of `xrandr`.

4. Now reboot the laptop, leaving the projector attached. When it
comes up, capture and upload /var/log/Xorg.0.log and the output of
`xrandr`

5. Run the command `xrandr --output VGA --mode 1024x768 --output LVDS
--mode 1024x768 --auto`. Capture and upload the output of `xrandr`
