Latest Xubuntu CD Live Hardy Alpha 4 build 20080206 after "starting
Gnome Display manager" gets brown screen with cursor. That's it.
Nothing else. Ever.

Ctrl-Alt-F1 displays:
usplash: No usable theme found for 640x480
screen unit failed.

So I did sudo halt, tried earlier Hardy Alpha build:

Earlier Xubuntu CD Live Hardy Alpha build 20080109 after "starting Gnome
Display manager" gets blue screen with cursor. 20 seconds or so later
the XFCE desktop loads, off and running.

Ctl-Alt-F1 everything fine, no error messages from usplash, no screen
unit failed message.

Let me know if you would like more info or if I can try something.
lspci -vvnn is attached.
