As Leann Ogasawara suggested, I tried the Hardy Alpha CD. Suspend and resume WORKS PERFECTLY on that cd, I tried 5-6 times. As he said, I couldn't try hibernate, but now that Hardy uses the hal-info backend, this bug is resolved for me (my machine is present in the hal-info database).
