Why is this flagged wontfix? Still a show stopper for people like me. Has discouraged at least one potential Linux user I know. Has certainly discouraged me from promoting Linux commercially.
This bug does need to be divided up into a number of distinct bugs, depending on symptoms, and which work-around eliminates the bug. I personally would fix this, (at least for the symptoms I see)..... if I had 2 weeks full time to apply to it. Unfortunately I do not, so I am at your mercy. Maybe at least a mention in the release notes, and some suggestions of workarounds may be useful.
