The current Ubuntu CDs do not contain the manufacturer-supplied PPD files and therefore PostScript printers get set up with generic PPD files. These files often miss printer-specific options and also printer- specific margin settings. To get the full functionality of your PostScript printer, install the "linuxprinting.org-ppds" package and remove and re-add your printer.
