Hi! I've got the same problem with my power button on a Dell Inspiron 8600.
event log: "GNOME interactive logout because the power button has been pressed" but nothing happens. I also did a "sudo apt-get update" and a "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" few minutes ago. gnome-power-manager version: 2.16.0-0ubuntu3 If I choose "shutdown" in the preference dialog, ubuntu shuts down when pressing the button.
